POSITION: Banquets Operations Intern

REPORTS TO: Director of Banquet Operations, Assistant Director of Banquet Operations, Banquet Managers

SUMMARY OF POSITION: To assist and learn the ins and outs of daily operations of the Banquet Operations at the Union League. 

 

JOB DUTIES

  • Work with Banquet Managers on a daily basis with duties and task assigned related to events
  • Create and print weekly menus and signage for events
  • Complete end of shift manager duties. Including Captain’s reports as necessary.
  • Work with Managers during assigned shifts to oversee and execute small events assigned
  • Supervise staff during assigned events
  • Keep open communication between all departments and your management.
  • Keep in constant and clear communication via email and in person with all necessary UL employees or clients
  • Unpack, label and properly put away new uniform orders
  • Complete and submit monthly uniform inventory
  • Complete and submit monthly equipment inventory
  • Assist Banquets Beverage Manager with daily liquor bill and Accubar submissions
  • Assist Banquets Beverage Manager with daily paperwork and execution of events when necessary
  • Help complete monthly liquor inventory with team
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Pursuit of a Hospitality Management Degree is preferred
  • Private Club, service experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows/PC
  • Ability and willingness to learn computer programs including but not limited to: Jonas, Accubar, ACT!, Qlik and ADP.
  • ServSafe and RAMPS certification preferred
  • Self-directed and proactive
  • Work well with other employees, including chefs, audio visual, coffee break, housemen, beverage, and servers
  • Efficient time management
  • Even tempered
  • Ability to develop and implement standards
  • Efficient and organized
  • Professional appearance and manner
  • Flexible work schedule (20 - 30 hours preferred)
  • Excellent customer service
  • Detail-oriented – accurate data entry, strong oral and written communication

 

MANDATORY WORK DAYS INCLUDE (But are not limited to):

  • New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter, Fall Ball (1st Saturday in November), Thanksgiving, Family Christmas (1st Sunday in December)
