The Inn at The Union League Guest Request Attendant / House Person

                                                                           Reports to: Housekeeping Manager                                                         

Job Summary:                                               

The guest request attendant is responsible for handling guest requests and requests from other departments. He/She will identify and report preventative maintenance and housekeeping issues in public spaces and guest rooms. This person needs to be detailed orientated and able to work with little to no supervision. The attendant will be responsible for inventorying all items requested on a monthly basis. They will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms and Inn common areas while adhering to all polices, procedures and standards of the Union League.                                                                 

Guest Request Attendant / House Person responsibilities:

  • Review arrivals report each morning and deliver all items that are requested i.e. rollaway beds, cribs, etc.
  • Clean rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine
  • Clean rooms and hallways as directed by the housekeeping manager
  • Complete projects given by the housekeeping manager
  • Collect soiled linen from guest floors and bring them to the laundry department
  • Maintain all housekeeping closets
  • Inventory all guest request items
  • Remove all trash bags from guest floors
  • Performs duties of the room attendant when needed
  • Help room attendants and bellmen with heavy lifting
  • Clean all public areas of the Inn
  • Report all missing and damaged items/furniture to the housekeeping manager and maintenance department
  • Respond in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues
  • Take up any task assigned by the manager such as washing the walls, moving furniture, and flipping mattresses
  • Report to work in required uniform and adherence with The Union League dress code
  • Give Passover information to turndown attendant
  • Attendant must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighting 25lbs or less without assistance.

 

Skills Required:

  • High School or equivalent or two years’ experience as house person
  • Able to safely handle and use cleaning chemicals
  • Desire and willingness to work as a team within Housekeeping and other departments
  • Personal maturity, sound judgement, motivation and integrity
